Challenge for 2011: Post A Week

I was browsing WordPress.com just now when I came across this interesting blog post: Challenge for 2011: Want to blog more often?. To be honest, I already blog quite a lot, I think, but I do like a challenge – especially a blog related one!

The post suggests either signing up to WordPress’ “Post A Day” or “Post A Week” challenge.  As I am already too late to start the “Post A Day” challenge (well, I feel I should have done it on January 1st if I was going to start it at all), and also because I know at times it might be impossible (when travelling etc.), I have decided to opt for the “Post A Week” challenge. I feel sure I can manage this, and I know at times I will post more than once a week.

I’m also hoping that committing to this challenge will encourage me to go out and find things to blog about – whether I am here in Japan as I will be until the end of April, or in England as I will be after that. I will aim to seek out Japanese stuff to share with you all in words and pictures!

Finally, as I’m talking about challenges it has led me to think about resolutions. Last year, one of my resolutions (of which there were many – too many!) was to write more. I feel happy that I can say, without a doubt, that I did that. I wrote 91 blog posts here on Haikugirl’s Japan and 52 posts over at Kit Kats! (wow – that’s a lot of Kit Kats!!). I also wrote and published 3 articles in Being A Broad magazine (all about wonderful women in Japan).

So, here’s to another year of blogging! Please keep reading, and don’t forget to leave your comments below! Why not share your New Year’s resolutions with me! Mine is, of course, to do a Post A Week!
