I was planning to write about the Starbucks sakura campaign but I’d been a bit lazy about it and now Alice over at SuperHappyAwesome has gone and beat me to it. But her piece is so lovely and the photos are so beautiful, so I don’t mind being beaten to the post (literally!). 😉
Anyway, the sakura campaign in Starbucks is probably one of my favourite times (except Christmas) because the goods, drinks and cakes are all so pretty!
I got a new tumbler:
And of course I had to sample the Sakura Creme Frappuccino (さくらクリームフラペチーノ) and some Sakura Chiffon Cake (さくらシフォンケーキ):
The Sakura Frappuccino (and Sakura Latte, which is also available) has a really unusual, sweet taste. I can only say that it tastes like… sakura! I know this is difficult to imagine if you have never been to Japan, but if you have ever tasted something with “sakura” flavour you will (hopefully) understand what I mean!
These days, when I see Starbucks (which is every day, because I work right by one!), I really feel like spring is coming. The sun is shining, my world is turning pink, and before long the cherry blossom will be in bloom…
