Exhibition: ‘Megan and the Burobbu Boutique’ by Tom Lewis

A year ago I went to see an exhibition in London by the wonderful Tom Lewis, called Megan and the Beasts of Kaimei. Since then, I’ve followed Tom Lewis’s super kawaii work online, and was delighted when he announced another exhibition.

Megan and the Burobbu Boutique is being held in BOXPARK in Shoreditch, and will be open until 24th December.

The key characters in the exhibition are these loveable little pink blobs, the Burobbu. (Japanese hint: ‘burobbu’ is how you would say ‘blob’ in Japanese.)

The exhibition is small but wonderful, and the Burobbu are everywhere, in all shapes and sizes.

Throughout October the space at BOXPARK was being used for an exhibition, but from November the space was transformed into the Burobbu Boutique, selling sculptures, paintings, prints, posters, and all sorts of other things.

I would have loved to have bought a painting or print they’re so gorgeous! Tom Lewis’s work combines Japanese-inspired and kawaii images, in a contemporary street art style. He creates beautiful, captivating worlds and characters, which are totally unique.
