Japan 2015: Solo Pilgrimage

Greetings from Kawayu Onsen (川湯温泉)! I had planned to write sooner, but I’ve just been so damn busy having fun and catching up with everyone in Nagoya. I already have lots of stories to share, but they will come later when I eventually upload all of my photos and write proper blog posts.

For now, this is just a short post – more like a postcard, if you will.

Today’s journey was long, but I enjoyed every moment of it. It was definitely more about the journey than the destination, though there’s nothing wrong with Kawayu Onsen. I travelled here from Nagoya, by bullet train, limited express JR train and bus, starting my journey at 7:30am and arriving just before 5pm. Tomorrow my Kumano Kodo (熊野古道) solo pilgrimage begins!

This is day six in Japan and I have to say it’s bloody good to be back and to be adventuring. I’ll be hiking for the next couple of days, and then in Kyoto for the weekend. I will blog when I can, but please also check out my Instagram (Ali_Haikugirl) if you can’t wait for blog posts!
